Funeral services for Gary Lee Cavinee will be held at 12:00 P.M. Noon on Friday, September 17, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Dunkirk Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home. Masks are encouraged but not required. 

Gary died on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. He was born on October 14, 1950 in Kenton to the late William and Kathaleen (Hayes) Cavinee. On February 19, 1972 he married Penny McDougle and she survives in Forest. 

Also surviving are 3 children; Jami (David) Dellifield of Ada, Brian (Nikki) Cavinee of Pickerington, Blake (Jessica) Cavinee of Marysville, 9 grandchildren; Zacary, Nora, Broderick, Ian, Sarah, Nicolas, Sophie, Madoc, Stella and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by 2 brothers; James Wiliam Cavinee and John Cavinee.

Gary was a 1968 graduate of Hardin Northern High School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked for Rockwell/Meritor as a machinist until his retirement. Gary also worked as a substitute teacher for HARCO, which he loved.

He was a member of the Bridgeport Church and volunteered at Heartbeat of Hardin County, where he taught the Men’s Classes. 

Gary enjoyed fishing, watching his Cincinnati Reds and being with his family. He loved to make people laugh and was known to be a little ornery. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
