George F. Collet age 85 of Upper Sandusky, died at Westbrook Assisted Living on Nov. 2, 2023. He was born June 11, 1938 in Carey to the late Andrew and Catherine (Riedlinger) Collet. He married Janis Brodman on Oct. 27, 1962 in Kirby, she preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2014. Mr. Collet is survived by a daughter Amy (Bill) Adams, Columbus, a son John (Andrea) Collet, Nashport, grandchildren Sarah, Zachary, Annika and Lydia, a brother Henry Collet, Tiffin, sisters Lucille (Mickey) Rausch, IL, Cathy Brandt, Tiffin, sisters-in-law Mary Catherine Brodman Thiel and Joan Collet. He is preceded in death by brothers Nicholas, Joseph, Norman Collet and 2 infant brothers.

Mr. Collet was a 1956 graduate of Nevada High School, and a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Collet was a lifelong farmer and retired from Whirlpool after 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kirby, K of C, American Legion, AMVETS, Wharton Lions Club where he was past president. He served on the Council on Birth Defects for over 30 years, CKO for 50+ years, Farm Bureau Board where he had been president, Farm Bureau Advisory Council Northwest #7, 4-H advisor for 10 years, advisor to Farm Bureau Youth Council and Wyandot Co. Fair Board.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Sat. Nov. 25, 2023 in St. Mary’s Catholic Chapel with Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv. & Deacon Kevin Winterseller officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Kirby with military graveside honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visitation will be held Fri. Nov. 24, 2023 from 4:00-6:00PM at the Bringman Clark Funeral Home, a Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 6:00PM. Memorial contributions may be made to George and Janis Collet Memorial Scholarship Fund at Marion Tech to help students from Wyandot County. To donate, you can visit
