Gerald L. “Jerry” Twining, 75 of Carey, died early Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his residence.
Born February 23, 1944 in Carey, he was the son of Russell “Buck” and Betty (Kemmerly) Kauble. He married Yolanda “Lonnie” Niemann on April 20, 1968 and she preceded him in death on April 23, 1982.
Surviving are his children: Yolaine “Laina” (Frank) Conley and Garrick (Julie) Twining both of Carey. He is also survived by three grandchildren and a sister, Joanne Wright of Upper Sandusky. His long time companion , Sue Hogan, also survives in Carey.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife and a brother, Jack W. Twining.
Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Carey High School and a Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Army. He came back to Ohio and worked at the former Ex-Cello Corp in Fostoria for 25 years.
He was a life member of the VFW 3759 and American Legion 344 both in Carey.
Jerry was an avid fan of O.S.U. Buckeyes football. He enjoyed watching Western movies, especially John Wayne movies and playing golf.
Friends will be received 4 – 8pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Carey.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the funeral home, with Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey with military graveside rites conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
