                Harlene Sue Hopson, age 83, of Ada, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, peacefully at her home in the presence of family.

                Sue was born March 23, 1940, in Van Lear, Kentucky, to George and Willia (Hyden) Wells who preceded her in death.  On July 23, 1956, she married Ernest Elmo Hopson, Jr., in Auxier, Kentucky, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2014.  They celebrated 58 years of marriage.

              She worked as a nursing home and private duty nurse.  She was a member of the church of Christ.  She was a 1984 graduate of Ada High School, having returned to school following many years as a homemaker.  She enjoyed shopping, dining, antiques, gardening, and visiting her native Eastern Kentucky.  She loved her family and enjoyed attending reunions.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was loved by many and will be terribly missed.

              Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey (Sally) Hopson of Modesto, California, David (Rachele) Hopson of Ada, and Vaughn Hopson of Ada; one daughter, Gina Powell of Ada; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma McCullough of Mt. Victory and Sharon (Harold) Music of Ada.

               She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlie Wells and Gary Wells; three sisters, June Trimble, Helen Pack and Julia Napier, one half-sister, Mildred Panasky, and four half-brothers, Bill, Ernest, Darvin, and Jack Wells; and a grandson, Jesse Powell.

                Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Minister G. Marc Nations officiating.  Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

                Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

                 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice, Lima.
