Harold Lee “Pete” Dickinson, 84 of Kenton passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Vancrest of Ada. He was born on June 16, 1937 to the late Paul William and Gertrude Mae (Sloan) Dickinson. He married Sue Dodds on June 29, 1958 and she survives along with their son, Steve (Kelly) Dickinson of Kenton; grandson Riley Dickinson of Forest; bonus daughter, DeDe (Dave) Snider; bonus granddaughters, Sara (Derek) Eblen of Kenton and Katie (Austin) Coger of Northwood and two great-grandchildren, Nash and Beau. Also surviving are a brother, Paul (Mille) Dickinson and sister, Bonnie Frater along with several nieces and nephews.
Pete was a 1955 graduate of Kenton High School, he went on to work for the Whirlpool Corporation (Marion) for 45 years as a forklift operator. He was a member of the Marseilles Methodist Church and served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. He was a former 4H Advisor for the Land of Goshen and a longtime member of the Hardin County Restorers and Collectors Club.
He was an avid OSU fan, loved John Deere tractors, hunting fishing and chocolate. He “never met a stranger” and he had a great love for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dave Dooley officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at the funeral home and Tuesday from 11am until the time of the service at 2pm.
