Obituary for James G. “Jim” Hites

James G. “Jim” Hites, 73 of Kenton passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022.  He was born on July 13, 1948 in Kenton to the late James “Bob” and Laverne (Roby) Hites.  Jim married Jeri Lynne Morris on June 5, 1968 and she survives along with a daughter, Wendy Bristoll of Kenton, son, James (Lisa) Hites, Jr. of Alger, five grandchildren; Jake, Seth, Shea, Kylie, Jerin and a great grandchild, Karder.  Mr. Hites was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Wright, granddaughter, Sara and three brothers; Russell, Michael and Jerry.  Jim was a 1966 graduate of Kenton Senior High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 – 1970.  Jim then worked for Morton Buildings for 40 years.  Following his retirement, he served as the Safety Service Directory for the City of Kenton for 8 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ (Vocal) where he served as a faithful Elder for 35 years. His motto was “God First, Family Second and Friends Third.”  Jim enjoyed people, making friends everywhere he went and will be loved and missed by all that knew him.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 11:00AM – 1:00 PM at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the funeral home.  A private family burial will take place at a later date in Grove Cemetery.  Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com
