James L. “Stewie” Stewart age 63 of Wharton died Sun. Oct. 8, 2023 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus.  He was born June 5, 1960 in Kenton to John F. Stewart and Jeannette A. (Frederick) Reser.  His father is deceased and his mother lives in El Paso, TX.

Jim married Karen S. Conklin on Mar. 31, 1990 and she survives in Wharton.  He is also survived by a son Michael (Anni) Stewart, Tiffin, a daughter Trisha (Brian Cox) Stewart, Wharton, grandchildren Jackson, Oliver, Trever Stewart, and Isabelle Cox, 5 brothers and a sister, Jeffrey Stewart, Kenton, Julie (Gary) Hollis, TX, Scott Reser, FL, Joe Reser, FL, Jerry (Alejandra) Reser, NM, and Jason (Erin) Reser, FL.

Mr. Stewart graduated from Riverdale High School with the class of 1978.  He worked for Wilson Tire Co. for over 40 years.  He was a member of McVitty VFW Post 1182, Forest, and Kenton Moose Lodge.  Jim enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, camping, socializing with friends, playing cards especially Rummy, listening to 60’s and 70’s rock and roll and all country music, he was an avid OSU fan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Fri. Oct. 13, 2023 in Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest with Pastor Johnny Phillips officiating.  Interment will follow in Hueston Cemetery, Forest.  Visitation will be held Thurs.
