Janet L. Switzer age 84 of Haines City, FL, passed away on November 11, 2023 at Advent Health Heart of FL. She resided in Howell, MI during the summer and had also lived for 30 years in New Braunfels, TX. Janet was born on March 24, 1939 in London, OH to the late Olen E. and Sadie G. (McGraw) Bennett. She married Earl E. Weaver and later married Frank Szelag, they are both deceased. Janet married James E. Switzer in May 2006, he survives and resides in FL.

Surviving are her children Dean R. Weaver, TX, Vicki Richardson, Wharton, and Lisa (Gary) Hendrix, Nevada, step children Bill Switzer, MI, Steve Switzer, MI, and Linda Mihela, MI, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great -great grandchild, siblings James E. Bennett, Upper Sandusky, Marvin E. Bennett, Lexington, and Gary E. Bennett, Perrysburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Gregg Weaver, 2 grandchildren, and brother Robert Bennett.

She was a 1956 graduate of USHS and started working at Westinghouse Corp, then Tecumseh Corp, and retired as manager of the seafood dept. of Albertson’s Grocery’s. Janet was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Red Hat Society where she participated in mini plays, a wonderful cook, and had won a special trip to Hawaii with her wonderful bread pudding while participating in a baking competition. Janet made Christmas toffee that she shared with her family and friends. She loved sports including football, basketball, and baseball. She helped coach her daughters softball leagues. Janet loved to travel and enjoyed cruises, driving her golf cart around her park in Florida, but most of all she loved to care for her family.

A funeral services will be held on Monday November 20, 2023 at 12:00pm at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Reverend James Stauffer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Monday November 20, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
