Joan E. Collet age 92 of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 29, 1931 in Upper Sandusky to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Shumaker) Schindler. Joan married Norman H. Collet on Oct. 2, 1954 in St. Peter Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is a son Randal Collet of Upper Sandusky, daughter Linda (Stephen) Swihart of Upper Sandusky, two grandchildren Matt (Bobbie) Swihart of Upper Sandusky, Anna Kimmet of Upper Sandusky, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brother Joseph (Kathleen) Schindler of Dublin, brother-in-law Henry Collet of Tiffin, sister-in-laws Lucille (Mickey) Rausch of Illinois, Cathy Brandt of Tiffin. Mrs. Collet was proceeded in death by her parents and infant son Joel Collet.
Joan was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she helped with funeral dinners for many years. Joan volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store and belonged to Eden Homemakers social club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday December 4, 2023 at 11:00am in St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv. and Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday December 3, 2023 from noon to 2pm with a Catholic Prayer Service starting at 1:45pm.
