Obituary for Joan E. Vires

Joan E. Vires age 81 of Kenton, died at her residence Aug. 20. 2023. She was born Nov. 24, 1941 in Kenton to the late John L. and Janette M. (Burden) Newland. She married Chester Vires on June 10, 1960, he preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2013. She is survived by a daughter Peggy (Bill) Casto, a son Tom (Peggy) Vires, a daughter-in-law Tammy Vires all of Kenton, grandchildren Holly (Scott) Bryant, Danielle (Aaron) Clemans, Tommy (Jaden) Vires, Megan Vires, Rachel (Dustin) Albert, Rexal (Jessica) Horne, 13 great grandchildren, a brother Bill Newland, Forest, sisters Kay (Earl) Horne, Roundhead and Betty Richardson, Kenton. She is preceded in death by a son Rick L. Vires, a sister Lucy and brothers Dan, Lawrence, John, Robert and Paul.

Mrs. Vires was a homemaker and had worked at Green Acres Nursing Home, Kenton. She enjoyed attending church functions and spending time with her children, especially your grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery, Kenton Thurs. Aug. 24, 2023 at 11:30AM with Pastor David Schneer officiating. Visitation will be held Thurs. Aug. 24, 2023 from 10:00-11:00AM before the graveside at Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest. To extend a condolence or share a memory visit www.shieldsfh.com.
