There will be no services held at this time for John C. Lightner. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

John died on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on September 21, 1945 in Kenton to the late Roy and Irene (Flowers) Lightner. He married Sondra Wornstaff and they later divorced.

Surviving are a sister; Patsy (Harold) Miller of Ridgeway, a grandson; John (Payton) Harp of Ada and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter; Shona Lightner, and 3 brothers; Gary Lightner Sr, Gene Lightner Sr, and Roy Lightner Sr.

John worked for Augur’s Mink Farm and later in life for a foundry before retiring.

John loved to be outdoors. He was an avid coon hunter, but also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
