John E. Shumaker age 82 of Aurora, IL passed away surrounded by his family on Sept. 26, 2021 at his daughters summer home in Sawyer, MI. He was born in Upper Sandusky Ohio on May 21, 1939 to the late John and Margaret (Stayman) Shumaker.
Surviving are two sons John (Sue Wach) Shumaker, Villa Park, IL, Glen (Lisa)
Shumaker, North Aurora, IL, two daughters Darlene Shumaker, Burr Ridge, IL,
Linda Butler Shumaker, Warrenville, IL, 3 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren, granddaughter Alyssa (Matthew) DeKoker and their children Ashton, Annbeth & August, granddaughter Rebecca Shumaker, granddaughter Alina Butler and her child Zola, a sister Sue Ann Holaday, Phoenix, AZ, ne), and her Six Holaday girl’s
niece’s, Debra (Nick), Stephanie, Nancy, Jackie (Scott) Mulcher, Peggy (Gary), Brenda (Jim) McKinney, Tammy (Matt) Russ, Nephew’s Jason (Kristina) Shumaker, Mark (Lisa) Julius, Michael Julius, and many other great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother James (Nancy) Shumaker and a sister Jane Julius.
Mr. Shumaker graduated from West Phoenix High School class of 1957 and studied at Phoenix College class of 1960, he was the owner of Shumaker and Associates a Water Main Contractor, Wheaton, IL for 25 plus years and then semi retired to beautiful San Diego CA where he operated an express delivery service Davron Carrier, He was members of the Knights of Columbus, Boys Scouts of America, Moose Lodge of Batavia and D.A.R. He enjoyed playing cards with his family, genealogy, history, morel mushrooms and in earlier years he loved working with his uncle Chic on the family farm in Ohio. He gave of his time, money and talents to the communities he lived in – he was generous to all who knew him. He enjoyed his trips to Mexico with his brother Jim and was an avid trail walker and outdoorsman while living his best life in San Diego.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home on Sun. Oct. 3, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until time of services. Interment follows in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Heritage Society or American Heart Association, in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E.
