of Kenton

Funeral services for Judith “Judy” L.  (Holmes) Alloway will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Brian Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the funeral home.

Judy passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Birchaven Village in Findlay. She was born on September 18, 1940, in Kenton to the late Robert and Dorothy (Sherman) Holmes. On September 14, 1969, she married Robert Alloway, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2010.

Surviving are 5 sons; David (Mimi) Crawford of Piqua, Todd (Amy) Crawford of Middletown, Matt (Jennifer) Alloway of Dunkirk, Greg Alloway of Powell, Steve (Deborah) Alloway of Huntsville, 2 brothers; Robert Holmes of Kenton, James (Annetta) Holmes of Kenton, a sister, Marilyn Findlay of Midland, MI, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Sherry Poulin, Laurie Crawford, a sister, Janet McKee, and a sister-in-law, Sondra Holmes.

Judy graduated from Kenton High School in 1958. She was employed by International Paper in Kenton for over 20 years from which she retired.

She attended the Cornerstone Church at Huntsville in Huntsville, Ohio.

Judy thoroughly loved her family. She enjoyed reading, watching birds, gardening, collecting teddy bears, traveling with friends and anything involving her grandchildren. She was also an avid Buckeye, Bengals, and Red’s Sports fan.

Memorial donations in Judy’s honor may be made to the Cornerstone Church at Huntsville or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
