of Dunkirk

A graveside service for Katherine “Kathy” DeLong will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Dunkirk Cemetery with Pastor Gregg King officiating. The Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Kathy passed away peacefully at her home at 12:30 A.M. on Monday, April 8, 2024. She was born on February 16, 1950, in Orlando, Florida to the late Albert R. and Helen Maxine (Wheeler) Seabert. On September 8, 1968, she married Clarence “Sonny” P. DeLong, and he survives in Dunkirk.

Also surviving are 2 sons; Christopher (Deb Lingrel) DeLong of Temple, Texas, Craig (Wendy) DeLong of Dunkirk, a daughter-in-law; Jennifer Green of Findlay, 2 granddaughters; Sarah (Zachary) Johnson of Dunkirk, Caitlyn (Kole Young) DeLong of Gibsonburg, a great-granddaughter, Brailey DeLong and a granddaughter-in-law, Ashlyn DeLong of Dola. 

She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Cody DeLong and Caleb DeLong, whom she loved dearly.

Kathy was a 1968 graduate of Kenton High School. She retired from Kmart after a 34-year long career.

In her younger years, Kathy enjoyed cooking, bowling, and hosting elaborate parties where Michael Jackson (her favorite artist) was sure to be played. She loved to spend time with her family and will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathy’s honor may be made to Stride for Life via the funeral home or their website.
