LaVerne Holland, 98, of Kenton passed away in Lake Mary, Florida.  She was born on October 15,1925 in Kenton, Ohio to the late John David Bodine and Grace Thelma (Deerwester) Bodine. On January 25,1946, she married Willard Rowe Holland in the parsonage of the Immaculate Conception Church. They were married for sixty-nine years when he passed on November 8, 2015. LaVerne is survived by her children: Allen (Kathy) Holland of Chardon, Ohio, Dennis (Kathy) Holland of Connersville Indiana, Lynn (Kenny) Paugh of Ada Ohio, Michael (Tammy) Holland of Clearwater Florida, and Laura (Patricia) Clifton of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Seven grandchildren; David (Alex) Holland, Matt (Brooks) Holland, Brian Paugh, Kendra Hicks, Chad Holland, Shanna (Kent) Barnes, Kaylynn (Jeremy) Ennis and Aaron (Krisha) Yurkiewicz and 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

LaVerne was a lifelong resident of Kenton and a 1943 graduate of Kenton High School. She enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and traveling. She was an avid card player, enjoying Bridge, Poker and Pinochle. Following her husband’s retirement in 1986, they spent their winters in Ft. Myers FL.  LaVerne was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church and The Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was a member of the Compromise Community Club in Buck Township, Hardin County.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the Rosary Service will commence at 7:30 PM. A funeral Mass for LaVerne Holland will be at 10:30 AM on November 21, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Ryan Schmit officiating.  Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kenton, Ohio.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of LaVerne to the Immaculate Conception Church, Kenton,Ohio or Advent Hospice, Orlando Florida. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
