Obituary for Lillian Tilton Wallace

Our beautiful mother, Lillian Tilton Wallace, “One of God’s finest creations,” passed away on Tuesday January 9th, 2024 at Hardin Hills in Kenton, surrounded by her family. 

She was born on April 10th, 1960 to parents Julia and Theodore Tilton, both who proceeded her in death.  

She was preceded in death by brother Steve Tilton, sister Robin Green, nephew Jimmy Boggs, as well as our father Dan Wallace.  

Our parents began their lives as a couple in 1978 and were married on April 28, 1990. They spent 35 years together. 

Our Mother leaves behind 3 children, Becky (Sandy) Wallace, Julia Wallace and Daniel Wallace. 8 grandchildren, Jessie (Nicholas), Tyler (Kiara), Austin (Loki), Travis, Josselyn, Riley, Ryan and Jillian. 5 great-grandchildren, Jace, Madi, Finnity, Presley and Anela. Son-In-Law Jason Dunn, sister JoAnn (Fred) Cote, brother Tim Tilton, brother Scott (Gina) Tilton. Many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and friend of the family, Missy Ervin. 

It is said that it takes a special person to work with those who have disabilities. Our mother was one of those special people. Throughout her life starting as a teenager she spent many years doing what she loved. Of all the places she worked, Simon Kenton School was where she enjoyed the happiest working years of her life. She loved watching the Pioneer’s play basketball. Playing UNO was one of her favorite things at the school to participate in. She ensured that everyone was treated as an equal and was able to play regardless of the challenges 

they may have faced. She shared many memories of her students and their families that were part of her classroom. 

We want to thank all of the staff at Hardin Hills who helped take care of our Mother and a special thank you to Paula and Linda “On My Mind.” 

Thank you Patrick Potts. We will be forever grateful for the respect and compassion that you gave to our Mother. You always went above and beyond what was required of you. 

The services for our Mother will be on Monday, January 15th at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates funeral home in Kenton, Ohio at 1pm with Pastor Gregory Kah officiating. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date with the immediate family. Her wishes were to be cremated and to be buried with her wonderful Mother Julia Mae, who she has missed everyday for 48 years and has now been reunited with in Heaven. 

There will be a celebration of life following services at 2pm in the bottom level of the Moose in Kenton. We invite anyone who wishes to share fun or loving stories of our Mother or those who want to be kind, loving and compassionate towards each other because that is all she wanted everyone to do when it was her time to leave this earthly world.
