A mass of christian burial for Linda McGrath will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton with Father Jeffrey Tigyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
Linda passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital E.R. She was born on March 22, 1968 in Upper Sandusky to Paul and Ruth (Wilhelm) Staley, who both survive in Forest. On October 11, 1996 she married Roger McGrath and he survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are 5 siblings; Michael (Sandy) Staley of Olean, NY, Marlene Swinehart of Upper Sandusky, Marilyn Staley of Findlay, LuAnn (Ralph) Sherman of Kenton,Lorene Pesicek of Johnstown, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother in law; Tim Swinehart.
Linda was a 1986 graduate of Riverdale High School. She then attended Lima Tech where she earned an associates degree in nutrition. Linda worked for the Hardin Memorial Hospital, she started in the cafeteria but moved on to be a rehabilitation aide and retired after 22 years of service.
Linda was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton and a member of the Amvets Post 1994.
She was a self proclaimed “cat lady”. Linda loved her cats and rescued as many of them as she could. Linda also enjoyed being outdoors watching the wildlife and being in the country. In her free time Linda enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and doing word searches.
Memorial donations in Linda’s honor may be made to the Hardin County Humane Society or St. Vincent DePaul through the Church.
