Services for Lloyd Mabrey Jr. will be private. Burial will take place at Grove Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lloyd died on Monday, April  6, 2020 at The Saint Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on August 29, 1936 in Kenton to the late Lloyd Sr. and Velma (Holden) Mabrey. On June 28, 1960 he married Virginia Horner and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2011.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Madge (Richard) Battles of Kenton, Mary Kay (Greg) Wilson of Orlando, FLA, a son; Alan (Diana) Horner of North Baltimore, a sister; Linda (Alan) Struble of Mt. Victory, 5 brothers; Tom Mabrey of Kenton, Steve (Theresa) Cukovecki of Xenia, Dan (Mary) Mabrey of Mt. Victory, John Mabrey of Kenton, Don (Bonnie) Vermillion of Kenton, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his favorite grand pup Smokey.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Mary Lou Mabrey, Katherine Mabrey, a brother; David Mabrey, and a great-granddaughter; Lucy Packer.
Lloyd was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He worked for Better Home Conditioning in Lima and was a custodian for Ridgemont Schools.
In his younger years, Lloyd enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and wrestling on TV and tinkering with his tools.
Lloyd like to talk with people, especially with his neighbors and special friends Linda and Ray Saint Claire.
Lloyds true passion was his family, and he was proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
