Obituary for Loralee Smith

Loralee Smith, age 93, of Ada, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 17, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Eugen and Anna Marie (Beck) Stiefelmayer.  On April 14, 1951 Lora married Gene E. Smith and he survives in Ada.

Also surviving are her four children: Brenda Smith of Columbus, Wade Smith of Dayton, Sheila (Rob) Day of London, England and Sylvia (Todd) Newman of Columbus; three granddaughters: Katie Day, Hannah Day and Sophie Day; and a sister, Anna Marie (Ralph) Reboulet of Kettering.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie Stiefelmayer and brother, Eugen Stiefelmayer.

Lora retired from Ohio Northern University, where she worked in the Controller’s Office and the Law Library.  Lora was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada.  She was a member of the Dorcas Circle and the United Methodist Women at church.

Funeral Services will begin at  11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810 with Rev. Brandi Rigsby officiating.  Burial will be held at 2:30 PM in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
