Marcella Lucine (Barns) Chamberlin passed away on May 17, 2022. She was greeted at the gates by her husband of 59 years, Norval “Bud” Chamberlin with a heavenly square dance.

Marcella was born January 1, 1931 to Helen and James Barns in Waynesfield, Ohio. Her life education began on the family farm and continued at Waynesfield High School. She married Bud on May 26,1949. She worked for RBM before cooking for hundreds of children at Ridgemont Elementary School until retirement.

Never one to sit still, Marcella enjoyed her later years with numerous trips to Frostproof, FL where she and Bud enjoyed good weather with shuffleboard, bike rides and square dancing. They joined Hix and Chix square dancing club in Maysville, Ohio. Her later years were spent caring for others. She volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Hardin Memorial Hospital and at the Hardin County Council on Aging, where she was the Volunteer of the Year in 2012.

Her beautiful life will be cherished by the family she has left on earth: brothers; Leroy Barns of Belle Center and Carl (Ruth) Barns of Springfield, children; Larry (Diane) Chamberlin of Belle Center, and daughter Marjorie (Tom) Wingfield and daughter-in-law Lois (Mike) Chamberlin of Kenton, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her son, Mike Chamberlin, a brother, James Barns, Jr., and a great-great granddaughter, Jaylynn Adamson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hardin County Council of Aging and Ohio Health Foundation in memory of Marcella Chamberlin in support of its sewing group.
