of Kenton

Funeral services for Marilyn (Parrott) Love Arn will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Kenton with Rev. Jonathan Hanover officiating. Friends and family may visit 1 hour prior to services at the church. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements. 

Marilyn passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Blanchard Place in Kenton. She was born on May 6, 1931, in Delaware, Ohio to the late James Ray and Opal (Sager) Parrott. Marilyn was a loving, devoted, Christian lady who gave much of her life to the support and aid of others. Prior to her return to Kenton in 1988, she resided for 18 years in Galveston, Texas as the wife of Dr. Horace G. Love who was on the staff of the University Medical Branch where she fully supported the University Hospital Auxiliary with her time, talents, and gifts. Upon the death of her husband, she returned to be with her family and to marry Captain Robert Arn USN who also preceded her in death.

Marilyn was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Kenton, where she served as a Stephen Minister, a member of the Chancel Choir and Elizabeth Circle. She was also a member of the Minerva Club. 

Survivors include 2 sisters, Joan Howison, Marcella Shepherd, a brother, James (Betsy) Parrott and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood, and 3 sisters, June, Eileen and Sharon.

Memorial donations in Marilyn’s honor may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Kenton.
