Obituary for Martha J. Dunbar

Martha J. Dunbar, age 98, formerly of Mt. Blanchard, died at 1:10am on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Sunrise Care Center in Findlay.  She was born on January 7, 1926, in Findlay, Ohio to the late Silas D. and Maude (Brown) Beekman.  

On May 8, 1941, she married Robert G. Dunbar and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2019.  She is survived by sons: Robert G. (Sally) Dunbar of Punta Gorda, Florida, Dana D. (Bonnie) Dunbar of Findlay and Markus K. Dunbar of Mt. Blanchard; daughter, Linda (Loring) Ebersole of Findlay; 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by brothers: Delbert, Floyd, Donald, and Bobby Joe Beekman and sisters: Cleora Ritter, Thelma Brook, Crystal Kupar and Pearl Knick.

She was a member of the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing.  Her greatest enjoyment  has been being with her family.  Martha was a Key Punch operator having worked at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Cooper Tire, State of Ohio and Findlay College.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4-7 pm at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church, with one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral from 10-11 am.  Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
