Obituary for Mary Jane Rife

Mary Jane Rife, 95 of Carey passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Wyandot County Home. She was born in Hardin County on October 2, 1926 to the late H. Carey and Lillie (Wolfe) Hastings. On December 14, 1946, she married Floyd Rife and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2008. Mary Jane is survived by her brother, Eugene (Augusta) Hastings of Kenton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers; James (Betty), Carey (Shirley) and John Edward (Pinky) Hastings, sisters; Elizabeth Countryman and Joan Angell. Mary was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Carey for many years and was also a member of the Goshen Grange.  She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, sewing, crafting and watching Wheel of Fortune. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Pastor Jim Sharrett will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mary Jane to the Grace United Methodist Church, 301 E.
