Michelle Lynette Burkett, age 68, of Alger, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 2:15 AM at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 20, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to the late Byron and June (Houchins) Osborn. On April 24, 1975, Michelle married James Burkett and he survives in Alger.
Also surviving are her three daughters: Shanna (Dan) Bolin of Grove City, Tonya (Shane) Starr of Alger and Larissa (Todd) Harpel of Kenton; seven grandchildren: Austin (Chelsea) Howard, Justin (Lindsey) Howard, Troy Bolin, Laney (Brandon Bowling) Harpel, Allison Harpel, Kaitlyn Bolin and Ryan Bolin; seven great grandchildren: Bryson, Leyton, Remington, Kayson, Jaxon, Gabriella and Luca; two brothers: twin brother, Mike (Rhonda) Osborn of Bluffton, SC and Greg (Sue) Osborn of Columbus; two sisters: Sandra (Phillip) Lautenschlager of Belle Center and Ruth Daley of Lima; two brothers-in-law: Lester (Alma) Burkett of Alger and Esky Daniels of Alger; and her dog, BooBoo.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Makenna Bolin; sister, Shelly Osborn; brother, Richard Osborn; half-sister, Barbara Taylor; father and mother-in-law: James and Mag Burkett; and sister-in-law, Sue Daniels.
Michelle retired after working for forty-one years at Wilson’s Sporting Goods of Ada, as a lacer and a cutter. She enjoyed going to Starbucks, spending time and taking walks with her husband James. Michelle especially enjoyed spending time her children, grandchildren, friends and attending their events.
The family request casual attire or wear the color purple to support the Alzheimer’s Association for visitation and services.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey, Ohio with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Universal Hospice, 921 Rush Avenue, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 and/or McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey, Ohio 45859.
