Funeral services for Nancy J. Coats will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Rev. Randall Forester officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Nancy died on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on November 23, 1935 in Hardin County to the late Floyd and Freda (Yazel) Kanzig. She married Jack Coats and they later divorced. 

Surviving are a daughter; Rebecca Knox, a son; Mike (Kim) Windle, 2 step-children; Steve Coats, Jackie Winegardner, 2 sisters; Karen Longstreth, Harriet Whitaker, a brother; Donald Gene Kanzig, a sister-in-law; Marletta Kanzig, grandchildren; Dillian Knox, Terry Windle, Brittany Windle, Cory (Emma) Streets, Rachel (Shawn) McConaha, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Susan Streets, a son; Terry Lones, a granddaughter; Heather Streets and a brother; William Gary Kanzig.

Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Kenton High School.

She was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton.

Nancy worked for various places in Kenton, including Harco, and was a cook for the Sisters Midway Restaurant.

She was also a caretaker of the Hardin County Fairgrounds which she enjoyed thoroughly.
