of Cridersville

A memorial service for Paul Martin Thomsen will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 7,

2023 at the First Baptist Church in Kenton with his son, Pastor BJ Thomsen officiating.

The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Paul passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the Otterbein Senior Life Community

in Cridersville, Ohio. He was born on December 7, 1938 in Neenah, Wisconsin to the

late Oliver and Rigmor (Jersild) Thomsen. On June 4, 1977 he married Julie Gile and

she survives.

Also surviving are his children; sons, Thor (Kristen) Thomsen, Bjorn (Lisa) Thomsen,

Step-son Tom (Heidi) Thimm, daughter Paula (Gerald) Marsland, a son-in-law; Michael,

2 sisters-in-law; Joyce Thomsen, Karen Thomsen, grandchildren; Audrey, Brandy,

Brandon, Brianna, Lucy, Kai, Victoria (Jeremy), Joshua (Stephanie), Noah (Rhiannon),

and 8 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helga; children; Heidi, Robert, Kirsten, 2 brothers;

Thomas, Peter and a grandchild, Per.

Paul graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in political

science. He was an entrepreneur at heart and started several businesses in the railroad

industry. He was a born again Christian and wrote a 4 book series called the Creation

Adventure Series. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenton. Paul was a

family man who loved his wife and children dearly. He had a great sense of humor. Paul

was a lifetime athlete and loved to walk.  He enjoyed traveling and spending time with

his family.

Memorial donations in Paul’s honor may be made to Operation Heal our Patriots.
