of Kenton

A visitation for Paula A. Harp will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Grove Cemetery Committal building in Kenton. The family is also planning a celebration of life at the Kenton Eagles following the graveside services. 

Paula “Annabelle” Harp gained her wings October 3, 2022 at her residence in Kenton surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1956 in Plain City, Ohio to the late Kenneth Howard VanScoy and Harriet (Winegardner) Cheney. On April 30, 1977 she married Gregory Harp and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2012.

Surviving are 2 sons; Mark (Heather) Harp of Kenton, Keith (Ashley Tainer-Harp) Harp of Chillicothe, a brother; Bryan (Marilyn) VanScoy of Findlay, sisters; Rachel Tidd of Ada, Marty (Randy) Preston of Dunkirk, twin-sister; Pauline Coldren of Kenton, grandchildren; Isaac Heath, Lucy Harp, Faith Heath, Morgan Harp, Katana Harp, and her fur babies; Precious, Emily, Rocky and Aiyana.

She was preceded in death by a sister; Phyllis Hopson, a step-father; Brice Cheney, and 2 brothers-in-law; Kenneth Hopson, and Don Tidd.

Paula was a 1974 graduate of Hardin Northern High School. She worked at Burger Chef in Kenton where she met her husband Greg. She then went on to work at International Paper for many years.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose and Women of the Eagles in Kenton. She was also a member of the High Street Free Will Baptist Church in Lima.

In her free time, Paula loved to play Bingo, cheer on her Buckeyes and Browns and listen to old country music. She was a game show fanatic and also loved to play the game, aggravation with her family. 

Paula may have went peacefully into the night, but she will not go easily from the hearts of her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paula’s honor may be made to the Infusion Center at the Hardin Memorial Hospital, Ohio Health Hospice of Marion, Not By Choice or the family for expenses.
