Funeral services for Peggy A. Byers will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Caleb Burkey officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Peggy died on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima. She was born on August 28, 1962 in Kenton to the late Gene and Mary Lou (Mohn) Lightner Sr. She married Thomas Byers on June 9, 1990 and he survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are 2 daughters; Nichole Tillman of Kenton, Brandy Ohler of Kenton, 5 grandchildren; Blake and Baeya Ohler, Lylliann, Shelby, and Aaron Tillman, 1 brother; Gene Lightner of Kenton, 1 sister; Karen Lightner of Kenton, In-Laws; Fay & Allen Mitchell of Marion and Barbara Byers of Mechanicsburg, nieces and nephews: Tony Perkins, Brandon (Kia) Lightner, Tiffany Lightner, Christy Wright, Bryan (Melanie) Mullins, Erica (Elida) Wright, numerous cousins and her aunt Pat Miller.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother; Greg Lightner.

Peggy was a 1980 graduate of Kenton High School. She was a home care provider for 10 plus years and was a very caring, loving person who would go the extra length to help anyone she could. Peggy was the happiest when she was with her family and on her Tennessee vacations. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as she could always put a smile on your face.
