Rev. Ralph Wesley Middleton
of Kenton
A memorial service for Rev. Ralph Wesley Middleton will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Kenton. A time for visiting will follow the service. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ralph passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on February 11, 1940, in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Middleton and Lucille (Everett) Carothers. On November 25, 1960, he married Donneta Elliott, and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2023.
Surviving are a daughter, Kerin Krohn of Carmel, Indiana, a son, Shawn (Kim) Middleton of Kenton, a half sister, Ann (Pete) Olson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 4 grandchildren, Trey (Samantha) Middleton of Kenton, Jordan (Danny) Wagner of Corydon, Indiana, Alexandra (Donnie) Waters of Indianapolis, Regan (Logan) Guenther of Ridgeway, 7 great-grandchildren, Brailyn, Landon, Landry, Josie, Charlotte, Bennett, Lane and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Carol Middleton and Jan Siefert.
Ralph graduated from Lewis and Clark with a bachelor’s degree in math and physics. He went to work for the Navy as a civilian at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in Ridgecrest, California, where he worked on the missile defense system. Ralph then went on to get his master’s degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where he graduated with honors as the valedictorian of his class. Following his graduation, Ralph preached at the First Presbyterian Church in Maysville, Kentucky then served 22 years as the pastor for the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Kenton before retiring.
After retirement from full-time ministry, he worked as a pulpit supply minister for Fremont Presbyterian Church and Eastside Presbyterian Church in Van Buren.
In his free time, Ralph was an avid sports fan. He loved Guardian’s baseball and OSU football.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Kenton.
