Robert E. Koch, 74 of Kenton passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born in Kenton on April 19, 1949. Robert graduated from Kenton High School in 1967. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. On December 18, 1971 he married Kathy Cosart and she survives along with a son, Bob (Jen Schaller) Koch of Worthington, daughter, Cyndi Boggs of Kenton, sister, Jeanne Hinton of Rushsylvania, four grandchildren; Kinsley and Kyle Koch, Patience and Faith Boggs and two great grandchildren, Leyland and Layne Lease. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Norma (Oglesbee) Hinton. Mr. Koch worked for many years at Rockwell International. Robert enjoyed agriculture and was a life-long farmer. He also enjoyed military history and was a member of the VFW and Kenton Moose Lodge. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of service. Pastor Caleb Burkey will officiate. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Kenton Amvets Post 1994. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Robert to the Kenton FFA or the Amvets Post 1994. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
