Obituary for Robert Gary Smith

Robert Gary Smith, 80 of Kenton passed away Thursday September 1, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.  Gary was born to the late Richard O. and Emma G (McKinley) Smith.  Gary was a graduate of Kenton City Schools.  He married Lily Wells on November 3, 1967.  Gary worked at Rockwell for many years until he retired from there.  Gary is survived by his wife; Lily, their daughters: Laura (Steve) Rettig, Lisha (Josh) Wilkerson, grandchildren; Ashley Donnelly, Kaley (Seth) Kaylor, Brady Donnelly, Emma Wilkerson, Sofia Wilkerson, sister Kay Rush of Kenton and sister-in-law; Pauline Smith of Kenton.  He is preceded in death by his brother Richard A. Smith.  Mr. Smith served his country in the Army Reserve. Gary was a very loving husband, father and grandfather (pa-pa).  He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music especially Elvis and playing euchre.  He had a love for horses and the family Maltese, Beaudie.  Gary will be truly missed by his family and friends.  A private family only visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A private family only graveside service will begin at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Grove Cemetery, Kenton Ohio.
