Robert had a fulfilling life hunting, fishing, trap shooting, traveling, farming, raising hogs, playing, and watching sports. Robert’s father ran a ditching business for many years, so as a young adult he worked alongside his father and brother running ditching equipment and laying clay tile by hand. He later retired after 30 years from Meritor in Kenton, Ohio formerly known as Rockwell. Raising hogs was a passion he enjoyed for many years alongside his cousins and children. He never missed a hog show involving his children or grandchildren at the county and State fairs. Robert was an avid Buckeyes, Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. In 2016, the 1961 Mt. Victory Green Devils basketball team was inducted into the Hardin County
Sports Hall of Fame. It was a proud moment for him, as he spoke often about his basketball teammates from high school with great pride.
A graveside service at Otterbein Cemetery and a memorial dinner will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Robert’s honor may be made to Promedca Hospice.
