Funeral services for Ruby Faye Jones will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Don Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Preston Cemetery in Alger. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Ruby passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital ER in Kenton. She was born on April 13, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Edward and Minnie (Bushartz) Clifford. She married Richard Holbrook, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2001. She then married Norman Jones on December 10, 2006, and he survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are her children; Edward “Butch” (Lois) Holbrook, Carol Pratt, Kenny (Teresa) Holbrook, Joyce DeBona, Bobby Holbrook, Tim (Linda) Holbrook, Darrell Holbrook, Terry Holbrook, a sister; Joyce Pierce, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by 3 children; Wanda Childers, Norma “Sally” Clifford, Stella Mae Prater, siblings; Robert Clifford, Edward Clifford Jr, John “Buck” Clifford, Eve Rhinehart, Helen Foreman, Kate Watkins, Gene Rhinehart, a son-in-law; Mike Pratt and a daughter-in-law; Gloria Holbrook.

Ruby was a member of the House of Prayer Pentecostal Church of God in Kenton. She was also a member of the Farmers Union with her husband.

In her younger years, Ruby used a team of horses to log trees in West Virginia. She worked other various jobs but for the most part, she was a homemaker. Ruby took that title seriously. She loved to take care of her children and spend time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family and mowing grass. She also loved to plant her garden and feed her chickens. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her.

Memorial donations in Ruby’s honor may be made to the House of Prayer Pentecostal Church of God in Kenton.
