Funeral services for Russell Hogue, Sr., will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by Amvets Post 1994. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Masks will be required and social distancing should take place when applicable. 

Russell died on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on February 9, 1938, in Kenton to the late Emil and Georgia (Pierce) Hogue. On September 5, 1959 he married his bride of 61 years, Dorothy Hollerman, and she survives in Kenton. Also surviving are their children: Eleanor (Tim) Claybaugh and Joy (Jeff) Brown; six grandchildren: Erika (Craig) Eibling, Erin (Chad) Birnesser, Cody (Kelsey) Magann, Adam (Kristin) Magann, Russ (Beth) Hogue III, and Hanna Hogue; nine great-grandchildren: Makenna, Treysen, and Alexa Eibling, Emori Criner, Landry and Whitlee Birnesser, Riley Magann, Carter and Vivian Magann; numerous nieces and nephews; and a favorite sister-in-law, Lois Fitzgerald from Pennsylvania, whose favorite past time was to “friendly” harrass each other. Russell was preceded in death by son Russ Hogue, Jr., brother Randy Hogue, and sister Wanda Fausley.

Russell was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked at Rockwell for 31 years before retiring. Russell was a member of the Kenton Moose 428 and Kenton Elks 157 and a lifetime member of the Amvets Post 1994. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with his friends.
