Thomas Eugene Palmer, Sr. passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 in New Smyrna

Beach, FL. He was the second son of Ida Purcell and Charles Palmer.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 19, 1939, later moving to Kenton, attending

local schools. Tom went into the Army, staying 22 years as Military Police.

He spent three tours in Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange.

Tom married Barbara Andres and they had two children, Thomas Eugene Palmer,

Jr. and Kim Renee Palmer. Barbara died in 1971 leaving him to raise the two

children while continuing his military career.

In 1980, Tom married Beverly Van Atta Buckingham in Kenton. Beverly had two

sons from a prior marriage, Scott and Jeff Buckingham.

Preceding Tom was his mother, Ida Purcell Palmer and father Charles Palmer,

brothers Charles “Chuck”, Forest and Michael, sister Linda Applebe, and his

first wife Barbara.

Surviving is wife Beverly, children Scott, Jeff, Thomas Jr., and Kim;

sisters Sandy Reef and Cindy Goffinet; six grandchildren and seven

great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews living

in Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, New Jersey and Florida.

A graveside service will be held in Kenton at Grove Cemetery, Friday August 28 at 10:30 am. with military rites.  SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
