of McGuffey

Funeral services for Pastor Thomas D. “Tom” Kahley will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at The McGuffey Church of Christ with Pastor Mike Armentrout officiating. Burial will follow at Preston Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to services at the church. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tom died at 11:30 P.M. on December 30, 2021 at Vancrest of Ada. He was born on December 12, 1937 in Foraker to the late Theodore O. and Winona (Armentrout) Kahley.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Dan Kahley, Kem Mentzer, Ted Kahley, Rich Kahley, Tim Kahley, Mike Kahley, Bryce Kahley, Sherry Kearns, Paula Harvey, Marsha Walton, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Theodore, Richard, Joseph “Joe”, Dallas, Ralph, a sister; Virginia Mentzer, and his step-father; Henry G. Ralston.

Tom graduated from McGuffey McDonald High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and served in Korea in 1963, then receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. Tom then attended the Louisville Bible College receiving his degree.

Tom went on to minister at numerous churches in the the area including Flat Branch, McGuffey Church of Christ and finally the Kenton Church of Christ before retiring. 

When Tom wasn’t preaching he enjoyed golfing, bowling and relaxed by working in his yard and watching the birds. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom’s honor may be made to the McGuffey Church of Christ.
