Obituary for Tony “Dusty” C. Draper

Tony “Dusty” C. Draper, age 74 of Forest, passed away November 4, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.  He was born November 26, 1946 in Kenton to the late Ross and Ethel (Long) Draper Jr.  Tony married Jackie Bassitt on January 25, 1969. 

He is survived by his wife, children Tony (Christina) Draper Jr., Whitehouse, Angela Draper, Forest, grandchildren Derek Draper, Eric Draper, Megan McGill, Nathan Draper, Olivia Draper, great grandchild Hayden Draper, siblings Casey (Mila) Draper, Kenton, Ross (Geraldine) Draper, Dola, Rita Little, Patterson.  Tony is preceded in death by his siblings Peggy Vanderpool, Gloria Smith, and Dixie Pauley. 

Tony was a 1966 graduate from Riverdale High School.  He was a Vietnam Veteran in the US Army where he was a radio operator.  Tony later worked as a mechanic and was a member of the VFW Post 1182.  He enjoyed camping and fishing in his free time.  Tony was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Browns fan, and quite often his cheers and frustrations could be heard by the neighbors.  He was married to the “Love of His Life” for over 51 years and he treated her like a queen.  Tony will be remembered for loving all of his family unconditionally, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about his grandchildren’s accomplishments. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:30PM Mon. Nov. 8, 2021 in Patterson Cemetery with Full Military Honors conducted by VFW Post 1182, American Legion Post 259 both of Forest,  and AmVets Post 1994 of Kenton.  Visitation will be held at Clark Shields Funeral Home on Monday November 8, 2021 from 9:30am – 12:30pm.
