William F. Thornton Sr. age 86 of Upper Sandusky, died at the Wyandot Co. Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 16, 2021. He was born June 24, 1935 in Carey to the late Clarence and Margerite Thornton. He is survived by his children William (Shelley) Thornton, Ginger Thornton, Debra Thornton and Donald (Teresa) Thornton, all of Upper Sandusky, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers John (Neva) Thornton, Upper Sandusky, Paul Thornton, Upper Sandusky, Mickey Thornton, Upper Sandusky, Larry (Muriel) Thornton, AZ, a sister Lucille (Harold) Swinehart, Upper Sandusky.
Mr. Thornton served in the United States Army.
He had been employed by Chief Dairy, Mossbruger Roofing, Guardian Industries, Wyandot County Council on Aging and did maintenance for Wyandot County SNR. Mr. Thornton was former member of VFW Post #2842, Moose Lodge #1093, both in Upper Sandusky. He loved his dog, Kirby.
Private services were held for Mr. Thornton at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard. Visit www.BringmanClark.com send a condolence or to share a memory.
