John A. Heilshorn, 77, of Findlay started a new day on the golden streets of Heaven, Wednesday morning March 3, 2021.
On April 22, 1943, John was born in Detroit, MI, to the late Richard and Lucille (Kannowski) Heilshorn. On November 30, 1996, he married Sharon Williamson, and she survives, along with son John A. (Mary Jo) Heilshorn II, St. Mary’s, OH, and his children, Johnny and Olivia. He was a good stepfather to Todd (Tomie) Williamson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, their children Carlee, Myles, and Macaela Rose, and Lorrie (Mike) Pfeiffer of Russells Point, Ohio, and their children Brayden, Ashton, and Cayson. John has a sister, Vickie (Roger) Wahl of Wisconsin, and was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Robert Heilshorn.
John had been the fire chief for the Kenton Fire Department, worked at the Lima Tank Plant, and was a district sales manager for Lear Fire Equipment. John enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing, and was a true handyman. He was a member of the Church of the Living God in Findlay, where he was an active member and loved worshiping there.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021, from 1-4 p.m. at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday, March 8, 2021, with Pastor Juan Salinas officiating. Interment will be private.
