Current and past Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claimants may be targets of a new scam, warns the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Emails appearing to be notifications from ODJFS notify the potential victim that they are approved for a new stimulus benefit. Per the email, the recipient must click on a link to reconfirm their identity and redeem the benefit.
Central Ohio Better Business Bureau President and CEO Kip Morse warns targets of such “phishing” scams to report it to BBB Scam Tracker and the Federal Trade Commission.
