The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be holding an OVI checkpoint in Marion County Friday evening.

The checkpoint is funded by federal grant funds, and it is being held to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

Marion Post Commander Lt. Brandon Spalding said there were over 1500 OVI-related serious injury and fatal crashes around Ohio in 2023, and he said troopers made 15,000 OVI arrests last year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers.

The location of the checkpoint in Marion County will be announced Friday morning.
