This is Drowsy Driving Prevention Week.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that drowsy driving can be just as dangerous as driving under the influence.
Like alcohol, sleepiness can slow down your reaction time, decrease awareness of your surroundings, impair judgment, and increase your risk of a crash.
The most dangerous times of the day are from 2-6pm and from midnight to 6am.
Drivers need at least 7 hours of sleep to ensure safe driving abilities.
If you feel drowsy while driving, you should pull over to a safe location and take a nap.
