Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper, Gary Odom, shared traffic statistics and personal reflections of his 19 years on the job during a recent visit to Kenton Rotary.
Trooper Odom is not native to Ohio but comes to Ohio from California.

After his service in the U.S. Marine Corp., he came to Ohio as a recruiter and fell in love with the slower pace of Ohio life.

He has spent the last 19 years in Ohio stationed at the Fremont post and more recently at the Findlay post that services Hardin County.

Trooper Odom approaches his job with kindness, courtesy and above all respect.

He acknowledges that folks may not be having the best day when they meet him and tries to maintain a calming presence.

Trooper Odom noted that the top two reason for crashes in Ohio are speeding and failure to yield violations.

He shared the Ohio State Highway Patrol website where citizens can request reports, view services and access a plethora of statistics.
