On May 17, 2019, Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Rickard Road for an unresponsive female.

The person was pronounced deceased and the Union County Coroner was called to the scene.

The Union County Coroner’s Office investigators preliminary toxicology analysis indicated lethal amounts of Heroin and Metabolites found in the deceased female.

This information was shared with the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement (M.A.D.E.) Task Force, which includes members of the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Marysville Police Department. The investigation into the death of the female led to a search warrant being served on May 23, 2019.

The service of the warrant led detectives to obtain additional statements from the subjects present at the time of the female’s death. Detectives located a loaded syringe with what they believe to be heroin and that suspected heroin will be submitted to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for testing. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the residence.

Cell phones were seized which will be analyzed by the M.A.D.E Task Force detectives looking for information on the person who supplied the lethal amounts of heroin.

Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton, Marysville Division of Police Chief Floyd Golden and Union County Prosecutor David Phillips encourage the residents of Union County, who are using drugs, to seek help for their drug addiction before they overdose and die.
