Patrol’s Lieutenant Crow promoted to Staff Lieutenant at the Findlay District Headquarters

Columbus – On July 3, Lieutenant Matthew R. Crow was promoted to the rank of staff lieutenant by Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol superintendent. Staff Lieutenant Crow will transfer from his current assignment at the Findlay Post to serve as an assistant district commander at the Findlay District Headquarters.

Staff Lieutenant Crow began his Patrol career in February 1997 as a member of the 128th Academy Class. He earned his commission in July of that year and was assigned to the Fremont Post. Staff Lieutenant Crow was selected as Post Trooper of the Year in 1999 and 2000; and Post, District and State Trooper of the Year in 2002.

In November 2002, Staff Lieutenant Crow was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Wilmington Post to serve as an assistant post commander. In 2003, he earned the Certificate of Recognition. As a sergeant, he also served at the Fremont Post, Sandusky Post, and in the Administrative Investigations Unit. In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred to the Findlay Post to serve as commander.

Staff Lieutenant Crow served in the Air National Guard from 1990 to 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in 1995 from the University of North Dakota and an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1994 from the Community College of the Air Force. Staff Lieutenant Crow completed training at Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command in 2006, and completed the Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program leadership training in 2019.
