Pedestrian Killed in Hit/Skip Accident in Allen County

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Allen County late Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of Dixie Highway, just north of State Route 81 in Bath Township, to investigate an argument taking place between a male and a female.

When deputies arrived, they found 18 year old Chance L. Edwards lying in the roadway.

A witness at the scene stated they were arguing and Edwards walked into the roadway and was struck by a southbound vehicle, which then left the scene.

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation as troopers follow up with potential leads of the vehicle involved.
