Pets Need Special Attention During Fireworks

With the 4th of July celebration this week, area law enforcement agencies are reminding pet owners to take precautions during fireworks displays.

Pets should be properly secured since many get startled and have a tendency to run off when frightened.

If possible, dogs should be kept indoors during the fireworks, but if outside, make sure gates and kennels are secured.

You should also make sure that the current dog tags are on the collar in case your pet gets lost.
