A visitation for Phyllis Joan Sryock will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will take place at a later date.

She died on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. She was born on March 21, 1932 in Kenton to the late Verl and Norma (Coons) McGrath. She married James Sryock and he preceded her in death. She then married Harold Sryock and he also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children; Kent (Sally) Sryock, Cheryl Mangus, Brad (Tina) Sryock, Melony (David) Holcomb, Tona Holcomb, siblings; Sandy (George) Shaw, Roger (Phyllis) McGrath, Bryan McGrath, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson; Evan Viers and a son-in-law; David Mangus.

Joan was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Amvets Post 1994, the Eagles Auxiliary Post 2163, the Hardin County Coon Hunters Club, and the Epworth United Methodist Church in Kenton.

She enjoyed bowling, sewing, reading and cooking. Joan also had a “Green Thumb”, and could grow any type of plant.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library.
