A stolen vehicle from Columbus was recovered in Allen County this past Tuesday.

According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the American Township Police Department received a complaint about the stolen vehicle, which eventually led them to the residence of 525 South Kemp Road in Elida where the vehicle in question was recovered.

The American Township Police Department requested the assistance of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau, and the investigation led to several other questionable vehicles and items of interest at the property.

Due to the scale of the investigation and items recovered, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles were called in to assist in the case.

Officers have remained at the residence over the past two days securing evidence.

The sole resident, Wyatt Cole Morrison (D.O.B. 9-21-2001), originally from the state of New York, was taken into custody on a single felony count of Receiving Stolen Property and transported to the Allen County Jail.

Morrison is being released from custody later today and this case is expected to be presented to an Allen County Grand Jury upon conclusion of this investigation.

If anyone has any information related to this case they are asked to contact Lt. Brett Rider with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office 419-227-3535. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867).
