Registration Open for Fall Palace Academy of the Arts Classes

Marion, Ohio – September 16, 2019 – The Palace Academy of the Arts, located at the historic Marion Palace Theatre, 276 West Center Street in downtown Marion, is a performing arts program of the Marion Palace Theatre.

Registration is now open for group classes, private one-on-one classes, and one-day workshops scheduled to take place this fall.

Fall Session Two runs seven weeks beginning the week of October 14. Registration and fees are due one week before classes begin.

Group classes scheduled to meet on Mondays are Beginning Yoga (5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.), Youth Acting ages 8 to 10 years (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and Adult Acting (7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.). Tuesday class offerings include Dance Basics ages 6 to 8 years (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Youth Acting ages 6-7 years (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.), and Adult Tappercize (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Wednesdays are dedicated to Advance Yoga (5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Youth Acting ages 11 to 14 years (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and ages 15 to 18 years (8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.). On Thursdays, preschool ages 3 to 5 years will learn Music in Motion (1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.), ages 8-13 will be introduced to Musical Theatre Dance (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), and adults will participate in Broadway Dancercize (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).

Class fees for seven-week adult and youth classes are $84; preschool classes are $70; yoga classes are $56. For just $5, new students who register in advance may try a class on for size before making a commitment to a 7-week session.

Private one-on-one lessons are also offered at the Academy including Voice with instructor Jami Rawlins, Dance with instructor Chelsea Sims, Piano with Music Educator Terri Malone, and a variety of Theatre lessons with Kristi Wink which include, but are not limited to, private acting, pageant preparation, job and college interview success, Broadway and theatre auditions, and public speaking. Private lessons are $35 per 30 minute class or $60 per 60 minute class. Couple’s dance is $55 per 30 minute class. Private lessons are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Adults will also have the opportunity to participate in a Restorative Yoga Workshop on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Led by Certified Yoga Instructor & Yoga Alliance Member, Helene Everson, students are asked to bring a sticky mat and dress comfortably. The cost of this one-day yoga workshop is $30.
